Questions?
Here are some of the most common questions I get about working together.
If you don’t see your question listed or are ready to schedule a free consult, contact me.

Individual therapy is $175 for a 50-minute session. Reimbursement from your insurance may be an option and I am happy to discuss your options.

I currently accept Cigna/Evernorth insurance. I will verify your benefits prior to our first session so there won’t be any surprises.

The choice of a counselor is an important one. It is my belief that the relationship between the therapist and client is the foundation for successful therapy.
I want to facilitate personal growth and development as well as eliminate or mitigate feelings of distress. Together we will work to increase your self-esteem and help you experience life to its fullest. I provide clients with a non-judgmental, genuine and collaborative environment.
We will work together to enhance your feelings of happiness, calm, and confidence. Here’s a quick snapshot of what our experience will look like: I use an attachment lens in therapy, which means we focus on rebuilding trust, forging healthy relationships, and expressing emotions.
You are the focus of sessions, but I believe in showing up authentically as well, so expect some jokes (when appropriate, of course), pop culture metaphors, and out of the box coping skills.
-
During the first session, a lot of questions are asked (much more than normal!) to explore what is bringing you to therapy at this time. We will also discuss your history and any goals you have for our sessions together.
This typically takes 2-3 sessions in order to lay a foundation for our future work together.

Therapy helps you get to the root of your concerns by diving under your symptoms, exploring your life experiences and thought patterns, and deepening your understanding of yourself. You’ll get to know yourself, create meaning, and grow from what you learn.

Yes, I ask for 24-hours notice if you need to cancel a session. This allows me enough time to offer the spot to another client who may need it.
My fee for a missed session or late cancellation is the full session rate if we can’t find another time to meet in the same week.
